The West Docks
The West Docks was adjacent to the Shipyard but was run separately. It always seemed to be busy in the mid to late sixties when I was there.
A badly damaged ship during the war
The Photinia was a regular visitor to Readheads Docks. She was used on a number
of occasions as a cable laying vessel and was converted at Readheads and then
back again after the job was completed into her normal role.
The photo above shows one of Readheads ships, the m.v. Photinia on the left, alongside the docks.
